NORTHERN NSW farmers are bridging the gap between the city and country, with a new service that brings the paddock to your front door.
For decades local farmers have sold fresh produce at markets and to local businesses but now Tweed and Gold Coast families can have the goodies delivered.
Paddock 2 Porch is the latest fresh produce delivery service which uses fresh fruit and veges from local paddocks to deliver them to our porch in just a few hours.
Owner Tom Prichard has been in the business of growing greens for as long as he can remember and earlier this year branched out to the Tweed and Gold Coast to offer locally grown quality food.
Mr Prichard’s farm is in Cudgen and what he cannot grow he gets from other locals.
“We grow, harvest, pack and deliver our own produce to make it more sustainable and affordable for everyone,” he said.
“We get up really early to harvest and ensure that customers get their delivery on time so they can enjoy the best quality fruit and veg.
“We also believe in supporting the local economy, so whatever we don’t get from our paddock we source from local farmers.”
Currumbin local Joanne Dick has ordered from Paddock 2 Porch every week since it started its delivery service and said she would not buy anywhere else.
“My daughter is an athlete and requires the best fresh produce and we know that locally sourced is always best,” she said.
“It takes five minutes to order, pay online and the latest you’ll get your delivery is the next day.”
